The Brief

Serious clinical training. A blank slate online.

Jordan is a PhD candidate in clinical psychology and a licensed clinical social worker, opening her own private telehealth practice. Her work centers on women, adolescents, and neurodiverse clients navigating anxiety, life transitions, and reproductive health, delivered over telehealth across New York and North Carolina.

She was starting from zero online. In mental health, the first impression is everything: a prospective client deciding whether to open up to someone needs to feel their credibility and their warmth at the same time. The site had to earn trust in seconds and feel calm, not clinical or templated. So I built her one that does.

  • Convey PhD-level clinical credibility without feeling cold
  • Feel warm and safe for a first-time therapy client
  • Explain three distinct services clearly and simply
  • Give people an easy way to join the launch waitlist
  • Educate and build organic reach through a real blog
  • Work beautifully on a phone, where most people would find her

The Approach

Three jobs, before a single line of code.

I mapped what a nervous first-time client needs to feel between finding Jordan and reaching out. Each one became a build decision.

01
Credibility, not coldness
A first-time client is deciding whether to trust her with something vulnerable. She has to read as qualified and human at once.
❌ The easy path: a generic template that could be any therapist.
✓ What I built: full-bleed portrait, PhD and LCSW surfaced, calm slate-and-navy palette that signals research-grade care.
02
Warmth and fit
People self-select. They need to sense her approach and whether she helps someone like them.
❌ The easy path: clinical jargon, or a vague "I help everyone."
✓ What I built: plain-language services, a clear "who I help," and evidence-based copy that still sounds like a person.
03
A frictionless first step
Interest fades fast. The path from "maybe" to reaching out has to be effortless.
❌ The easy path: a buried contact page and a phone number.
✓ What I built: a simple waitlist join and clear CTAs site-wide, ready for her 2026 launch.
What Was Built

Every page. Every word. Built to convert.

Homepage

A full-bleed hero that earns trust in three seconds.

A warm, professional portrait fills the screen, with copy that tells the right client they have found the right person. Two clear paths, join the waitlist or view services, meet people wherever they are.

  • Full-bleed hero with a serif headline and calm palette
  • "Who I help" framing: women, teens, neurodiverse clients
  • Dual call to action that routes by readiness
Services + Blog

Clear services. Content that builds reach.

Three services, therapy, coaching, and neuropsychological assessment, laid out as a clean editorial list instead of busy cards. A real blog gives her something to be found for.

  • Editorial numbered services, not a cluttered card grid
  • Full bio with PhD and LCSW credentials surfaced
  • 3 SEO-ready posts: perinatal anxiety, ADHD in women, first session
Waitlist

One easy first step.

She is pre-launch, so the whole site points at a single action: join the waitlist. Low pressure, clearly reversible, and ready to convert interest the day she opens.

  • Simple, non-intimidating waitlist form
  • Clear CTAs site-wide, never more than a tap away
  • Email and social links in the footer
Design system

Research-grade calm.

I swapped an early sage-green palette for a muted slate and navy that suits PhD-level clinical work: serious, steady, and human. Cormorant Garamond for warmth, DM Sans for clarity.

  • Slate blue and navy palette with a subtle grain texture
  • Cormorant Garamond display paired with DM Sans body
  • A dedicated mobile hero crop, tuned for phones
The Result

A first impression as thoughtful as her care.

Jordan went from a blank slate to a calm, credible home for her practice: a site that feels like her, works on any phone, and is ready to turn interest into a waitlist the day she opens. It is live now.
